Everybody’s gotta have one of those cool little icons in the address bar of every browser, it’s super simple to do, and it’s a great idea to have one to keep your branding consistent.

So, first you’ll need to create the image you want to use for your favicon, and obviously we don’t want to have too much detail here because it will end up being really really tiny.  A good shortcut is to use your existing logo, or a part of it.

Next, do a search for favicon – you’ll come up with tons of favicon creators that let you upload your image and then it lets you download the favicon file.

Now all that’s left is to upload your favicon to the root folder of your website – any ftp program or even the file manager through your hosting cpanel will work just fine and dandy.  The root folder is the the one where the wp-admin, wp-content, etc. files are.

And that’s it!  Your favicon will now appear in the address bar of browsers, as well as in the bookmarks list for most browsers as well.

Voila!
