Who We Like to Work With

So you’re thinking it’s time to take the plunge and either create a new website or revamp your old one, excellent! But, before you consider working with us please have a look below to see if we’ll be a good match:

We work well with those who…

  • Know the importance of investing in a professionally-branded website.
  • Trust us to know user expectations – if we advise against 15 tabs in the navigation bar, it’s because we know it will confuse your website visitors and isn’t mobile savvy.
  • Are willing to step into the modern world – if you want a site that looks like it’s from the 90’s we probably aren’t a good fit.
  • Can let go of micromanagement. If you can’t let go of micromanaging the details, we are probably not going to fit. You hire experts to know their field; questioning every step outside your own field will waste everyone’s time and create a mediocre product.
  • Need someone who is a techy geek – busy professionals love us for this; we know and love the tech and we don’t expect you to know it too, that’s why you’re thinking of working with us!
  • Know that everything they’ve ever heard about with regards to marketing isn’t included in their website package (for example, a shopping cart, email system, appointment booking system, etc.). These pieces are projects unto themselves and then yes, can indeed be incorporated into your website at a later date, under a different contract.
  • Have a plan – either you have some marketing know-how yourself or you’re already working with a marketing coach.
  • Are punctual and respectful of our time – if you are consistently late or no show for meetings we are not a good fit and will just end up getting cheesed off. We are all busy professionals and emergencies do happen, but rarely.
  • Enjoy a relaxed and pleasant but professional relationship.

Other Important Matters of Policy to Note

If you’ve made it this far down the page, so far so good! You must be thinking we would be a good match to work together on your project. Here are some other very important matters of policy that if you choose to work with us will be reiterated in our contract documents, and also bear mentioning ahead of time.

Time Frame

Most new sites will be completed and/or signed off within a two-month time frame, unless an extension is agreed upon in advance, to ensure we have the time available to dedicate to your project.

Delays

My associates and I will take all reasonable actions to complete any projects in a timely manner and we will have time set aside specifically for you and your work. However, you acknowledge that delays in receiving materials from you may slow completion of the project, and may result in new arrangements with regards to scheduling.

Stalling (*this is probably the most important one to read*)

Stalling is defined as lack of direction, response, or approval to move forward by you, the client, after repeated attempts at contact by either me and/or my associates.

If a project stalls for more than 15 consecutive days at any point there will be a re-start fee required to continue working on the project and new arrangements re: scheduling will have to be made. By the same token, if the project stalls for 30 consecutive days then it will automatically be considered Complete and is no longer our responsibility unless further arrangements are made and the re-start fee has been paid.

If you simply respond to our requests with “I’ll get right on that soon” or “check out this funny story about my dog” emails with no actual actions taken, be aware that these emails do not forestall the count of days before a project is considered stalled (please see the definition of Stalling above).

In other words, you don’t have all the time in the world to provide us with your feedback and content for your website, and can’t ask us 3 months down the road to add a few more items and expect them to be included in the original package.

We are thrilled to dedicate our time and effort towards completing your website in a timely manner! We expect the same courtesy in return.
