I just got back from the 10th annual IVAA (International Virtual Assistant’s Association) live summit in Portland, and I am so glad I went!
I had mentioned in a previous post that I have had not had the best experiences with conferences in the past, but that was back in a different industry all together.
Well, put a whack of Virtual Assistants in a room together and the result is fantastic! I made so many new friends, I got to meet some folks that I had talked with for years but hadn’t had the chance to meet in person yet, and I got to hang around with old friends that I hadn’t seen for ages. All the folks who had been to these conferences before were so friendly and helpful, and there were plenty of first-timers there like me, so it was a great mix.
The programming was also very good, I got all sorts of new ideas that I’m going to be tossing around for a while for sure. The hotel was great, the food was great (although there was just so darn much of it all!), and I even scored a roommate that I swear must be my long lost twin sister we have so much in common! (It was great Chachie, we’ll definitely keep in touch!)
All in all I was impressed and would definitely recommend the conference to anyone out there who is humming and hawing. What are you waiting for? Start saving for next year’s IVAA Live Summit!
Hey SMac! It was so nice to meet you at IVAA Live Summit! I agree with you it was great learning, great colleagues and great food! Where else can you get such education in a nurturing environment at such an affordable price? I look forward to seeing you next year! It’s only 340 days, 23 hours, 13 minutes and 12 seconds…but who’s counting?
