After moving a site to a new web host the Sexybookmarks plugin kept giving me a directory permissions error every time the plugin was updated. Kept telling me I needed to chmod the spritegen directory.
In the end it turns out the Custom Path setting in the plugin needed to be updated – just make it the same as the default path – and voila! Problem solved!
