Freshbooks Recurring Invoices – A Super Time Saver

If you’re using Freshbooks I highly recommend utilizing their recurring invoices section, it’s a huge time saver.

Here’s how it works: you set up an invoice “template” of sorts, tell it how often to create an invoice (for example, monthly, bi-weekly, annually, whatever), choose from your items OR choose a project to grab time logged, add any applicable taxes, and then forget about it. When your chosen time frame comes around the invoice will be automatically created based on the criteria that you set up in the template. Super simple!

And you don’t have to automatically send it if you don’t want to, if you want to check it over first you can set the template to create the invoice but not send automatically. Of course, if you can send it automatically why not do so? But you have that other option just in case.

And even better, when your client gets their invoice they’ll be given the option to save their card info if they want to, for future billings. If they utilize this option, your invoices will not only be magically created without you having to do anything, they’ll also get magically paid right away – sweet! It’s so nice to wake up on the 1st of the month and see a series of “payment received” emails already sitting there.

I highly recommend using Freshbooks, and particularly the recurring invoices feature.
